That's where most people go. Don't go to Detroit, it's busy and the people processing apps couldn't give any less of a fuck. I don't think it would increase your wait time for the license, just actually getting in there and doing the paperwork is a pain in the ass.I got my CPL right before the gun boards got shut down so mine took I think 30ish days. Right now people are reporting CPL issuance and renewal times of about a week in Wayne County.
Well here's another update Wayne County Clerk office told me to call them if I didn't get my new CPL by the end of March. Well it didn't arrive and I called and left a ton of voice mails and after about a week they called me back.
They tell me there was some kind of problem and I need to come down so they can take my picture for the license and then I can get mypermit. This is after I took a day off from work, followed all the instructions, provided passport spec photos and paid cash (in November!). I hate living in Wayne County!
They must have changed their requirements. When I took my renewal in to them in mid-January, I bought my own pictures with me - but they backed me up to a wall and took their own picture (which is what they ended up putting on my actual CPL card). Not sure why I had to bring my own photos when they didn't use them.Guy here at work's wife was especially pissed. She went to the salon, got her hair done, then got her passport photos taken.
Stopped at the Henry Ruff office to drop off her paperwork right after going to the gym. They took her picture and sure enough, that's what's on her CPL. BTW I provided passport spec photos to the Clerk's office along with all necessary paperwork and full payment in cash back in November of 2010Here's the latest in my nightmare.Well I took the day off last Monday (4-18) and went down to the Detroit Wayne County Clerks office. The usual chaos was in full effect. After having my info taken by one of the many public servants at 'work' that day I was instructed to have a seat outside room 207. About 20 minutes later my name was called.
Got up and was told my CPL had been mailed on 4-11. As of today the CPL has not arrived. Frankly I dont think it was ever mailed.I think right now I'm at the point I just want my money back and screw the permit.Maybe someone should burn the State Constitution out in front of the Coleman Young building!!!!
